A New Island of Childhood

KET Foundation Completes the Construction of a Children’s Playground in Artik

In the era of mobile phones and computers, it is especially important that children have opportunities for real-life interaction, active play, and true “courtyard childhood.” Every bright, warm, and safe corner created for their leisure is an investment in the health, development, and happiness of the next generation.

With this idea in mind, the KET Foundation has carried out its latest project—the construction of a children’s playground in the courtyard of a residential neighborhood in the town of Artik. The site for the playground was provided by the Artik community, and the project itself was implemented in close cooperation with—and with the support of—the leadership of the Artik Municipality. The heads and staff of the equipment-supplier companies Magnon A, Grand Project, and Sun House demonstrated professional, responsible, and heartfelt involvement in the project, while friendly and active local residents became part of this shared endeavor from the very first days.

And yes, the most wonderful part—children “built” their playground too! With incredible enthusiasm, they tried to help the builders and cheered the adults on.
Here’s how it all happened!

We set out to create a space where children could play active games, run around, socialize “not on the phone,” and simply be happy. Day by day, the courtyard transformed: swings appeared, a cheerful merry-go-round, a mini zip line, a basketball hoop and backboard for future little champions, a sports-and-play complex, and other play structures. Even the residents’ garages nearby received a fresh coat of paint. The courtyard seemed to come alive—becoming brighter, more vibrant, and more colorful. Decorative plants and shrubs were also planted around the playground to add a cozy touch of greenery. A new lighting system was installed as well—solar-powered lampposts—so that in the evenings the courtyard will now be filled with soft light and warmth. Finally, neat litter bins were installed, along with comfortable benches where adults can rest, chat, and watch the children play, enjoying the comfort of the renewed courtyard.
Difficulties? Of course there were—but now they only bring a smile!

As with any construction site, we had our share of “building adventures”: something didn’t fit, something needed adjustment or rework. But every issue was resolved quickly and together. Today, we remember those moments with a smile—because they brought everyone closer and made the result even more valuable.

A special gift for the children was a sound system that the Foundation donated to the courtyard. Now, under the roof of a brightly decorated and renovated gazebo, there will be music and songs, families and friends will gather, celebrations will take place, karaoke battles will happen, and warm meetings will be held. The courtyard will become not only a place for children’s games, but also a true center of connection and good neighborliness.

Thanks to this teamwork, we achieved a wonderful result in the end—one that makes you want to smile and thank every participant, especially the little helpers, without whom this playground would not have turned out so sunny.
