During conversations with the residents of Harich, we learned that for more than eight months of the year they need reliable home heating. Unfortunately, low‑income families cannot afford expensive gas or electric systems—or their ongoing maintenance—to keep their homes warm and cozy.

The most common alternative is a simple iron stove burning wood or coal. On the market, however, these stoves are usually made from thin, low‑quality steel and last no more than 1–1.5 years. Our Foundation decided to equip 25 families in Harich with high‑quality, handmade multipurpose stoves. Built from 4 mm steel, these stoves have an expected service life of 4–5 years and can burn either wood or coal, as desired. Each unit also includes a small oven for baking bread (local residents love homemade loaves and roasted potatoes…) and other dishes.

At the villagers’ own suggestion, production was entrusted to a locally renowned craftsman, giving him a substantial order while guaranteeing the families both quality and timely delivery.

The total project cost was approximately 2,070,000 drams.

To identify the families most in need, the Foundation—together with the local administration and an initiative group—formed a temporary commission to compile a list of beneficiaries. The head of Harich village provided the premises and all necessary support for their work.

As a result, the project was completed in the shortest possible time and under the full oversight of the villagers themselves.

Thus another charitable initiative to support the families of Arich in the Artik district has been successfully carried out. We thank everyone who took part in this effort and remain committed to improving the quality of life for rural families.
